Wire Gauge Chart
There are three main types of wire gauge measurements; British Imperial Standard (SWG), American or Brown
and Sharp (AWG), and AWG Metric. There is an approximate a difference of 2 gauges between SWG and AWG. For
example, 14 AWG(.0641) is almost the same as 16 SWG (.0640)
Youll find a lot of wire with no gauge specification listed. In this case its best to purchase a cheap
caliper and measure the wires thickness yourself and lookup the appropriate gauge.
